We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and focused permanent full time Communications Manager to be based at our headquarters in Chelmsford, Essex. Flexible working in the East Anglia region will be considered for the right candidate. This can be discussed at the interview stage.

Responsible for managing all Comms & PR activities, you’ll ensure the communications team supports the delivery of the Association’s goals, reporting to the Head of Engagement. You’ll lead planning & delivery for all communications outputs on behalf of the Association.

You'll need to build strong relationships with members of our Estates, Engagement, Cadets and Business Services teams, as you will need to nurture & leverage productive internal & external relationships. Experience of relationship management, working with volunteers and local authorities is desirable.

You’ll allocate resource and team expertise efficiently, and you’ll manage the expectations of all key stakeholders. You’re able to show how your work contributes to the Association’s outputs, demonstrating proactive communications support to stakeholders and showing that decisions were based on solid intelligence.

You’re an expert at internal communications and setting strategic goals for digital campaigns in order to promote the work and interests of the Association.

You’re an excellent copywriter, providing website content and curation using WordPress, delivering customer- centric communications, stakeholder engagement messaging, preparing press releases, maintaining a high standard of engagement on social media channels, producing email newsletters using MailChimp and content for other print and digital publications, and providing media support at engagement events.

This post is for 37 hours per week. This position attracts a current salary of £35,290 p.a. plus lots of additional benefits.

East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) is an arms-length public body of the Ministry of Defence, mandated to give advice to the Defence Council, manage the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ estate, deliver community and employer engagement for Defence, and provide administration services to the Army Cadet Force.
