Job Title: Part-Time Multiskilled Facilities Technician (Potential for Full-Time)


Location: Birmingham Business Park, Birmingham. B37


Hours: 16-20 flexible hours per week (plus overtime)


Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Facilities Technician with expertise in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems for our Birmingham Business Park location. This part-time role (with potential for full-time) involves completing basic maintenance tasks, conducting reactive repairs, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Hard Services, the successful candidate will work 16-20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic maintenance work and reactive repairs.
  • Test fire alarms, and emergency lighting, and conduct water temperature checks.
  • Inspect ladders, grills, and diffusers; address lighting issues and PAT test as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to obtain quotes for remedial works and small projects.
  • Supervise planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities of sub-contractors.
  • Utilize a mobile work order tracking system for efficient task management.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc tasks as required by the Key Account Manager or Facilities Coordinator.

Complexity:

  • Desirable: Qualification in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC maintenance.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Desirable: Electrical/Mechanical experience.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about various systems: Fire alarms, AHUs, Heating and Cooling, Shutters and doors, Lifts and cranes, Pressure systems, Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers, Lightning protection, Compressed Air, Expansion Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Leak Detection systems, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, Bus bars, Three-phase and gas plant.
