Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Physician in General Medicine based at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle (on a full-time or part-time basis). This is an opportunity to join an organisation in which Clinicians are at the forefront of management. As with all North Cumbria appointments consultants may be required to work cross site to provide a North Cumbria service at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven.

This is a new post to support the development of medical services and will contribute to the acute medicine on call rota. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop a special interest to complement those of our other departments

Relocation assistance of up to £8,000 may be available for successful applicants moving to the region.

Main duties of the job

Please note: If you are not currently on the Specialist Register, the offer of appointment will be at Specialty Doctor or Associate Specialist level, with a view of going down the CESR route to get on the register.

  • Applicants must have full registration with the GMC and must be on the Specialist Register in order to be eligible for appointment to this level of post.

Person Specification

education and Qualifications Essential
  • Valid Registration with General Medical Council
  • Membership of Royal College of Physicians or equivelant
  • On the Specialist Register for the above or within 6 months of being admitted to the register by the AAC date via Relevant CCT or equivalent ( confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
Desirable
  • Other relevant training medical and non medical degree
  • Other relevant post grad qualification
