Springfield Primary and Low Port Primary are non-denominational schools serving the community of Linlithgow. Both are part of the Linlithgow Academy High School cluster.
The roll of Springfield Primary is 341 with pupils organised into fourteen classes. Bonnytoun ELC is located on the school grounds in a separate building, and provides early learning and child care for children aged 2-5 years. The roll of the ELC is 71 children over the course of the week. Low Port Primary has 191 pupils organised into 8 class.
In addition to class teachers, there is a team of pupil support workers and a support for learning teacher in each school. Both school offices are staffed by an administrative assistant and a clerical assistant. In Bonnytoun Nursery, staffing currently comprises of two early years officers, eight nursery nurses and four pupil support workers.
Both Springfield Primary and Low Port Primary have earned very good reputations within the community and are well supported by their parent councils and the wider parent forum. The parent councils work in close partnership with their school and provides support in identifying areas for improvement. There are well developed, supportive partnerships with local groups, businesses and charities which permeate our curriculum.
The majority of pupils in both school settings reside within SIMD 10 (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation). Attainment is very good and our curriculum offering requires a high level of challenge for all.
This is a unique opportunity to join part of an innovative leadership team, working over both school communities. The leadership team will consist of one Head Teacher, two Principal Teachers and two new Depute Head Teacher posts. The leadership team will work together closely to drive innovative approaches in the curriculum and learning, teaching and assessment.
