Excellent opportunities have arisen for friendly, enthusiastic and passionate Commis Chefs to join our busy Kitchen Team.

Hours of work

Position 1: 7.30am to 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Saturdays and Sundays.

Position 2: 7.30am to 4pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and alternate Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities:

Main Duties:

Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within a section.
Assisting in creating menus, recipes and developing dishes.
Preparing meat and fish.
Assisting with the management of health and safety.
Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices.
Managing and training any junior staff members.
Monitoring portion and waste control.
Temperature taking and recording.
Keeping section and equipment clean and tidy.
To ensure correct stock rotation, labelling and storage.
Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards.

The ideal candidate will possess:

A real passion for cooking high quality dishes with fresh, seasonal produce.
Possess catering/cooking and food safety qualifications.
Awareness of COSHH regulations, chemical safety and HACCP standards.
Experience of food safety and hygiene laws, health and safety and allergen regulations.
Experience of using kitchen equipment.
Ability to work without close supervision.
Team management skills.
Flexible, positive and adaptable team player.
High level of attention to detail.
Keenness to learn and develop your skills.
