The West Kent Therapy Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and talented Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Urgent Therapy Service. This is a growing team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants.

Our Urgent Therapy Service provide reactive care to enable people to stay in their own home during period of crisis. The team work to respond to referrals same or next day, completing holistic assessments of patients in their home environments and delivering moving and handling solutions to make the individual safe, and optimise their functional independence.

The therapists work closely with our urgent care multi disciplinary services including, Rapid Response, Home treatment Service and Hospital at Home. Working alongside Nurses, Doctors, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Support Workers.

Due to the nature of this work the service is evolving and will eventually cover a seven day service over extended hours (8-8). Therefore, this is ideal for someone seeking flexible working patterns.

You must be a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist and have a car and full driving license as will be required to travel around the locality independently.

Day to day your duties will include:

• Completing comprehensive and holistic new patient assessments
• Delivering crisis management moving and handling solutions
• Designing individual rehabilitation plans and goal setting.
• Delivering and adapting Occupational Therapy interventions.
• Collaboration with MDT
• Equipment provision and ordering
• Supervising Therapy Assistants and Apprentices
• Clinical education of students on placement
