We are seeking to recruit a Band 3 Secretary to join our fantastic multi-disciplinary team within the main Hospital.

Interviews for this vacancy will be held on the 26th June 2024.

Wathwood Hospital is a purpose-built 78 bed adult male medium secure Hospital. Located in its own grounds and surrounded by open countryside and woods, it caters for those aged over 18 years who require assessment and treatment of mental health difficulties in a secure environment. Wathwood Hospital is part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare, which is one of the country’s leading mental health and learning disability service providers, employing over 6000 staff to provide these services over more than 100 sites.

The four wards allow a gradual progression so patients can develop their life skills and become better prepared for life in a less restrictive environment.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated secretary to provide an efficient, comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative service to the operational manager, training manager, senior management and medical team at Wathwood Hospital within the Adult Mental Health Directorate.

To undertake administrative and secretarial work as required by the operational manager, training manager and wider management team.

Providing cover and support, working as a team, within the Wathwood Admin secretariat and to provide specific cover for the senior management and medical team.

To deal efficiently with all correspondence, monitoring telephone enquiries and providing information as appropriate.

Using Microsoft Excel produce reports, graphs and charts as requested.

To convene and attend regular meetings as required, producing agendas and accurate minutes, making all necessary arrangements, including the collation of papers and agenda item.

To service the monthly meetings which are relevant to the role.

To organise events .i.e. away days

To liaise and deal with all external agencies, clients and carers.

To undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role including booking conferences, training, travel and accommodation for staff.



Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
