Careers Adviser with a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance, who is able to provide information, advice and guidance (IAG) for employment and employability is required for well-established organisation based in Wokingham.


SALARY: £29,269 - £33,024 per annum + Excellent Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid role – working part from home as well as from a variety of community venues across Wokingham Borough

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week


JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Careers Adviser with a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance, who is able to provide information, advice and guidance (IAG) for employment and employability.

Working as the Careers Adviser you will join a friendly and enthusiastic NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) Prevention Team.

As the Careers Adviser you will play a key role in providing IAG and support to young people aged 16-19 years (and up to 24 years for those with SEND) on a range of career, employment and learning opportunities which will enable them to progress.


DUTIES

Your duties as the Careers Adviser include:

• Provide information, advice and guidance to unemployed young people aged 16-19 and up to 24 for those with SEND (Special Educational Needs or Disabilities), from a variety of settings across the borough, helping them to identify and overcome barriers preventing them from entering education, employment or training

• Provide information, advice and guidance to young people in school who are at risk of NEET to help them make a successful transition from education into adult life

• Track the progress of young people and intervene when required to offer support and guidance

• Establish a knowledge of and good working relationships with local opportunity providers and support services to better advise and support young people into employment education or training


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Significant experience of working with young people, who is committed to providing excellent guidance and support

• Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance

• Ability to conduct effective one to one intervention with young people who are unemployed or at risk of unemployment

• Ability to effectively use assessment tools to identify risk and needs of young people

• Relevant experience of working directly with vulnerable young people

• Experience of representing a service at multi-agency meeting and making effective contributions
