The post holder will work as a member of a team providing a comprehensive reception service to the public. The duties will also include administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the health professionals predominately with the Early Pregnancy/ Gynaecology Assessment Unit however cover over the wider gynaecological service may be required
Receive patients to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit
Create and maintain patient records, checking demographics
Deal with telephone enquiries in a sensitive manner. these may be with staff, GPs, patients, relatives
Print wristbands on admission
Retrieve patients notes
Schedule and edit appointments
add patients to CERNER and CRIS systems to ensure preparation for radiology ultrasound
maintain confidentiality at all times

Reception - receive and signpost patients checking them into department, checking demographics. Liaise with other health professionals
Communication - Communicate effectively, sensitively and confidentially using various methods such as face to face, telephone, e-mail, CERNER
Ability to deal with stressful situations, acknowledge and address complaints, diffuse conflict
Identify the unwell patient on arrival and alert staff immediately
Manage and escalate internal/external referrals appropriately
