We are recruiting for an experienced Development Planner, to join our Southern Region, based in Newbury. Reporting to the Planning Manager you will support the Land & Planning team in delivering planning applications throughout the region. You will provide valued advice on site appraisals for the Land department and manage planning queries as required. You should combine strong organisational skills with a proactive and forward thinking approach. A good understanding of relevant regulations and legislation is also important, plus the ability to develop excellent working relationships at all levels of the organisation and with third parties, including Planning Departments, Land Agents and Land Owners.



MAIN DUTIES

Delivering planning applications.
Producing site appraisals for the Land Team.
Preparing applications and negotiating planning permissions in conjunction with the Land and Design & Technical teams.
Discharging conditions.
Providing ad-hoc advice on planning matters within the region as required.
Ultimately running specific sites on own account.
Liaising externally with Planning Departments, Land Agents and Land Owners.
Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
Complying with and upholding company policies and procedures.
Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.
Maintaining all health and safety aspects associated with Covid-19.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

Post-graduate experience in Local Authority or Developer.
MRTPI or RICS (Planning and Development).
Planning (Policy and promotions) and Development Management (Planning Applications).
Able to prioritise effectively with good attention to detail.
Able to show tact and diplomacy when dealing with third parties/committees etc.
