Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I’m a gentleman in my 40’s, who is a wheelchair user due to an accident which resulted in a spinal cord injury. I have no feeling from the waist down and limited movements with my hands but can use a knife and fork. My interests include sports especially football and rugby. I am outgoing and know exactly what I want and will tell you this. I will need someone to also assist me with my hospital appointments,

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support and assist me in my home and out in the community.

In my home and out in the community.

HOURS OF WORK

21 hours per week

RATE OF PAY

£11.80 per week

TASKS INVOLVED

· Personal care

· Manual handling

· Ensure that all my needs are met

· Support with daily tasks

· Support me within my home and out in the community

· Ensure I am safe at all times

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

· Friendly, outgoing, positive and likes sports

· Someone with a mature outlook

· Reliable and punctual

· Considerate, caring and trustworthy

· Understanding of my needs

· Car driver/Access to a car with business class insurance.

· Experience is desired but not essential.

· Will need to complete medication administration training course.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
