Trainee Teaching Assistant

We are looking to take on a Trainee Teaching Assistant to work in our client school in Bridgend. The Trainee Teaching Assistant will be based at a 3-19 special educational needs school working with learners with a range of additional needs.

We are looking for someone who is interested in kick starting their career in the education sector and who has a passion for helping and supporting people with additional needs. This role does not require Teaching Assistant qualifications as training is provided on the job and through Teaching Personnel you will have access to free and highly subsidised training courses to continue your career development!

Successful applicants have come from a variety of working backgrounds previously including care and PA work, sports coaching, and nurseries etc. We also welcome applicants with personal experience supporting people with additional needs! Contracts are available for those performing well!

Full Time : Monday to Friday)

Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm

Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour

No weekend work!

Role and Responsibilities

To work with learners from both the primary and secondary phase of the school supporting them throughout the school day. We are looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant that is flexible and able to support a range of needs including Autism, Downs, Learning Difficulties, Sensory Impairments and Physical Disabilities etc. We are looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant who is confident and able to nurture pupils and build positive relationships while guiding them through tasks set up by the teacher.
- You may be expected to support some learners with personal care where needed
- You may be working with challenging behaviour depending on the class

During the vetting process you will be expected to register/ apply for:

Enhanced DBS

Register with the Education Workforce Council

Requirements:

Must complete level 2 safeguarding training - free through Teaching Personnel

The role does not require specific education qualifications however the successful candidate must have and understand of the primary curriculum.
