In this role you will provide a wide range of Ward Clerk administrative tasks, including preparing the paperwork for children being admitted to the ward and uploading patient information onto the computer system (CPD). You will be self-disciplined, motivated and be empathetic to all those you come into contact with. It is essential that you can prioritise your own workload, possess sound communication skills, work as part of a team, but also exercise initiative within set parameters.

We are looking for someone that adopts the Trust's values and can demonstrate where they use these values in their motivations and drivers - in particular, their compassion, willingness to put the welfare of others above their own interests, and personal accountability. The post holder must also be computer literate.

This is a great way to see and support the work in a busy hospital and offers good development opportunities, as well as the staff incentives that the NHS offers its staff.

The start and finish times can be negotiated for the successful applicant, working days will be Thursday and Friday.

Provide general information, as required, directly to patients, relatives and staff.
• Resolve routine problems and issues arising from contacts, making judgements on the appropriate referral of such problems where necessary.
• Undertake basic ward clerk tasks, for example, production and issuing of already prepared standard and routine letters, distribution of incoming/outgoing post, photocopying and completion of standard forms/returns.
• Collates all relevant patient records, for example, case notes and investigation results, ensuring their availability for clinical staff when required and be responsible for the maintenance of relevant filing systems.
• May be required to type/word process routine letters and other appropriate documents.
• Ensure that any follow-up patient appointments are made prior to patient discharge.
