Principal Business AnalystHome-based with UK Travel Full Time, Permanent Circa £52,000 (dependent on experience)

Here at Serco, we are seeking a motivated Principal Business Analyst to promote and grow the Business Analysis service to support a range of projects and programmes within the Enabling Services portfolio, aimed at helping our customers achieve their strategic goals across the UK, Europe and globally.

In this key role you will support and enable a diverse range of project teams (HR/IT/Procurement/Finance etc) in the execution of complex and largescale change initiatives with specific focus on making our services more efficient and accessible for our users. You will also implement new and innovative ways of working to achieve the right outcomes for these areas and the wider Serco business, acting as a recognised expert and advocate for a range of change management methods and practices.
As part of this you’ll:


- Change Management Methods & Tools: Identify the best change methods, measure and evaluate outcomes, manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work, and ensure minimum viable product (MVP) and scope.
- Business Analysis: Lead analysis of new policies, legislation, initiatives, and business opportunities. Ensure recommendations align with strategic business objectives and vision. Improve or automate business processes and workflows.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively manage senior stakeholders and create compelling cases for change. Collaborate to develop project business cases for investment decisions.
- Requirements Definition and Management: Lead requirements analysis and manage key aspects of project and programme scope.
- Business Process Redesign & Improvement: Enable business teams to design new processes and solve process-related issues using workshops, discussions, software, and manual methods. Structure and analyse information for process redesign.
- Business Process Testing: Ensure integrity of testing and acceptance activities. Manage stakeholder relationships regarding testing matters.
- Innovation & Automation: Lead and enable innovation. Work with IT teams to develop automation approaches aligned with Serco business goals.
- People Management: Lead and coach a team of business analysts, fostering their professional development.
- Community of Practice Development and Maturity: Act as a mentor, demonstrating advanced skills and contributing to the development of business analysis practices across Serco UK and Europe.



What you’ll need to do the role:


- Extensive experience in business analysis, change management, Operational Excellence, or Robotic Process Automation in a service environment.
- Experience leading or line managing a small team of business analysts.
- Recognised qualification in Business Analysis is essential, preferably certified through BCS.
- Excellent communication, networking, and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple projects.
- Strong research, analysis, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of business management/business analysis principles.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Comfort with travel, as necessary for project needs. Expenses will be paid.
