About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + 10% performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Our ambition at SSE is to inspire the next generation with programs that enhance job readiness, and educational initiatives that promote career pathways into the energy industry. We've reached over 19,000 students and provided more than 200 work placements through our employability partners. As an Early Careers and Employability Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work across the SSE group of businesses. In this role you can make a meaningful impact on our industry and the next generation of talent.

In this role you will:

- Manage relationships with all of SSEs external employability and education outreach partners, as well as identifying and implementing new channels.

- Leverage partnerships, networks and resources to engage individuals from underrepresented groups or disadvantaged backgrounds, to drive better representation and improved diversity in our programmes.

- End to end programme management of early careers and employability programmes, including managing employability scheme participants during placements.

- Work in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure outreach and employability initiatives complement our business goals, with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Responsible for the effective delivery of all school outreach activities, including the management of a large internal STEM volunteer network. You will work with external experts and business leads, to ensure our volunteers have access to inspirational and engaging activities across a variety of channels both traditional and digital.

What do I need?

The ideal candidate would have a genuine enthusiasm for education, employability and early careers. To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: - Experience working in a similar education outreach, employability or early careers focused role. - Stakeholder management experience, with the ability to adapt your style. You will be working with a range of people, from young people participating in programmes, through to senior management. - Experience improving processes and driving efficiencies, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and influence others. - A genuine passion for Inclusion and diversity, with a drive to ensure that opportunities are accessible to everyone. - Experience organising and leading on events and STEM outreach activities.
