Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Teaching Assistant who has a real passion for working with children with SEND. This position is for a Primary School based in the Saltley area of Birmingham.
This role is full time and is due to start in September 2024 continuing on a long term ongoing basis.
The ideal candidate would have experience of the EYFS/Y1 curriculum and ASC specific strategies (or similar) - Now and Next, visuals, What's in the box, communication books, objects of reference. The candidate must have an understanding that the pupil will require additional processing time and will struggle with transitions between areas of the school.
The role is working in a hub for children with significant and complex difficulties. We are not a resource base school, but the hub is run in this fashion. There is currently 1 teacher and 2 TAs. There are 9 children, this is the children's main classroom.
Support is required for feeding, dressing, movement around school and personal care is a must. All of the children are in nappies; therefore we would not be able to accept anyone who is unwilling to do this.

SEND TA Experience, Training and Qualifications
* It is essential that you have at least a Level 3 qualification and experience working in a school setting in either a permanent or supply cover role.
*Previous experience working with children with SEND / Complex needs
* Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.

* Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
* Provide two professional child related references.
