Overview:

Sizewell B, the UK's only Pressurised Water Reactor, operates on an 18-month cycle of full power followed by a shutdown for refueling and maintenance, known as an Outage. The Outage Management Department oversees these crucial, multi-million-pound projects to ensure Sizewell B continues to deliver low-carbon electricity to millions of homes and businesses. The department is divided into two groups: the Delivery Group, focusing on the next outage, and the Multi-Year Group, planning for future outages.

What You'll Be Doing:

As part of the Outage Management team, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure smooth operation and preparation for future outages. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing administrative tasks for both group heads within outage management, such as producing documents, scheduling meetings, and handling logistics.
  • Supporting the Outage Management Work Review Group in the outage scope control process, ensuring accurate data input into the Asset Management Suite.
  • Monitoring pre-outage milestones, reporting, and meeting planning.
  • Tracking risk management activities, including regular downloads from the risk log.
  • Periodically generating agreed outage scopes via the Asset Management Suite.
  • Assisting in the development and execution of outage-related improvements.
  • Providing outage reports as requested.
  • Maintaining consistent communication between Outage Management and other station departments regarding outage preparations and key progress indicators.
  • Supporting post-outage reviews, particularly in capturing all scope-related OPEX.
  • Managing the CAP process within the department, including typing actions into the database as required.

The Skills:

To excel in this role, you will ideally possess the following knowledge, qualifications, and experience:

  • Knowledge of a PWR nuclear power plant
  • Professional secretarial/administration qualifications
  • Strong IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and M365 packages
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, drive, and a proactive approach to problem resolution and facilitating change
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a busy, people-oriented environment

Additional Requirements:

If successful, you will be employed by Manpower on a temporary assignment at our client's site and will need to undergo vetting checks as well as a drug and alcohol test.
