**Support Worker / Buddy Cambridge CB23**
**£12 per hour**
About the service user
I am a 20 year old male with a diagnosis of Autism, OCD and Anxiety Disorder. I live at home with my parents, and we are looking for someone to help support me to become more socially independent and to encourage me to go out and about within the community.
Hours and rate of Pay
The position will initially be for 4 hours per week, on either a Saturday or Sunday, but this will increase to 6 once a close working relationship has been established. There is some flexibility with the use of the hours particularly during the Summer and Easter holidays when I do not attend my education support setting.
Hourly rate £12 hour
Subject to enhanced DBS check.5.6 weeks annual leave (Pro rata)
What you would be doing
The role is primarily that of a support/youth worker with no personal care or domestic responsibilities involved. The objective of the position is to help improve my social skills, encourage me to participate in activities away from the home, support me to meet and engage with other young people and to become more independent. Full driving licence required
The person I would like
Someone who has knowledge and experience of working with young people, especially those with autism and mental health difficulties, and has the skills to help support me to increase my independence, build my confidence and increase my self-esteem. An interest in Star Wars and gaming would also be good and a sense of humour is essential.
