An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 6 nurse to join our successful Enhanced Recovery After Surgery(ERAS) team for 12 months either as a fixed term or secondment.

The role of an ERAS nurse is to help develop and improve perioperative care using evidenced based practice. The main aim is to reduce the risk of surgical complications which in turn helps to reduce (LOS)

The successful candidate will develop a wealth of experiences covering a variety of surgical specialities although having responsibility for orthopaedics ,urology and head and neck along with another band 6,when it comes to analysing data, reports ,attending MDT meetings .You will be supported by a committed team who strive to give holistic care for our patients who are at the heart of the programme.so team working is key

For this programme to be successful it requires close working relationships with relevant health care professional which makes the role even more interesting and very rewarding.

The post holder will help develop pathways for the management of patients admitted for elective surgery using Enhanced Recovery programmes. These pathways should be reviewed regularly in line with evidence from audit to bring about any necessary changes to achieve gold standards of care

• Responsible for working with multi-disciplinary teams to support and ensure the development of Enhanced Recovery pathways in the hospital
• To actively promote Enhanced Recovery Programmes and the benefits that can be achieved through implementing them.
• In collaboration with the clinical teams provide training programmes, for staff and patients in the Trust, related to Enhanced Recovery programmes.
