Job Description

The main role of the Principal Planner is to deliver of high-quality, successful developments that make Clackmannanshire a sustainable, liveable and productive place, through :

  • The preparation of the Clackmannanshire Local Development Plan
  • Implementing National Planning Framework4, the Council’s Local Outcome
  • Improvement Plan (LOIP) and Local Development Plan through the delivery of the Council’s planning functions and place-based work.
  • Effective decision making on planning applications.
  • Bringing place-based focus to the Council’s investment strategy and wider programmes for investment in Clackmannanshire, such through the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal.
  • Being a champion for Place within the Council and in dealing with our communities and partners.
