Behaviour Mentor Required for school in Hailsham

This is a fantastic school where children are supported in a safe and caring environment in which everyone is valued equally and there is mutual respect, co-operation and support.

Children attending this school have Social, Emotional, Mental Health issues and have often been exposed to adverse childhood experiences. As a result, the can have attachment issues. Children can present difficult and challenging behaviour, and require nurturing and an unconditional positive regard.

This school support children from Early Years right through to Year 11.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get stuck into a new opportunity and make a long term impact on the school, and most importantly, the children.

Your Role
- Supporting a range of vulnerable children between the ages of 5 - 16 years
- Be able to effectively behaviour manage
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
- Be available - Full time - 8.15am - 3.30pm

About you
- Outgoing and mentoring manner
- Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
- You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
- Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
