We’ve recently undertaken a workforce change across the Data Protection Office service and are seeking leaders who can help develop the people within the service and support them to grow, learn and be successful in their roles and apprenticeships (existing and new people) within the office.

(i.e. Data incidents breaches of the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) triad of Information Assets)
Data Security
(i.e. NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit / Regulatory compliance)
Within the new structure we are seeking to expand the service through the introduction of a 19-month Level 4 Apprenticeship that will cover all the aspects the people within the service need to be successful from the Band 4 level upwards. We need you to support and help them learn, grow and develop the service by sharing your skills, knowledge and experience. So, bring your best self, with an open mind and ideas to help keep us evolving.
The post requires a mix of on-site and home working to suit the needs of our service. Typically, one or two days a week depending on the service needs. The service has an agile working approach and planned meeting schedules so the entire service can plan accordingly their home and work life balance accordingly.

The Data Protection & Security function is responsible for providing support to the Data Protection Officer (DPO), internal data protection (Information Governance) arrangements and records management derived from legislation for compliance purposes. These include the processing, development and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures, information sharing arrangements, the management of security incidents, processing data requests, data protection training, NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DS&PT) compliance, information security, data protection / privacy impact assessments and support the Caldecott Guardian (CG) and Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO).
The postholder will lead on the management and co-ordination of the data protection and security service operationally and hold line management and managerial responsibility of employees within the service.
The postholder will ensure demand management and prioritisation is undertaken alongside maintaining relevant policies and service procedures.
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of an effective data protection and security support service and be part of a Duty In function on a rota basis.
The role is agile, and you would be expected to work in such a way with your agile kit (mobile and laptop equipment) to work onsite and from home to suit the service needs or when required by leadership.
