Summary
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice junior Tree Surgeon. This role provides an excellent opportunity to start a career in arboriculture, learning from experienced professionals in the field. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in tree care, maintenance, and removal while working towards industry-recognised qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Tree Maintenance: Support the team in pruning, trimming, and shaping trees to promote healthy growth and ensure safety.
Tree Removal: Help with the safe and efficient removal of trees, including felling and dismantling operations.
Groundwork: Perform ground duties such as clearing debris, brush chipping, and operating equipment under supervision.
Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and inspection of tools and machinery, ensuring they are in good working order.
Learning and Development: Participate actively in training sessions and coursework to gain knowledge and skills in arboriculture practices.
Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients and the public when required, providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
Education: No qualifications required!
Interest in Arboriculture: Demonstrated interest in trees, plants, and the environment.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Team Player: Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or related outdoor work would be of benefit - but not required.
Good general level of fitness.
Driving licence would be of benefit (our yard is in Houston)
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
Must be comfortable working at heights and using ladders or climbing equipment.
Regular lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
