The learners that you will be working with may have mild or complex learning difficulties or disabilities and will be from a wide range of ages; 14 years to adults.

In this extremely rewarding role, you will work under the direction and supervision of managers and teaching staff to provide high quality and appropriately targeted support to learners with learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities. This in turn will facilitate their independence, personal care needs, access to learning and integration into the College community. To help you achieve this, you will be working as part of a hardworking, passionate and supportive team that is committed to getting the best out of our learners.

While you will work predominantly within the Supported Learning area led by the High Needs Support Co-ordinator, High Needs Support and Funding Manager and overseen by the Head of Faculty, you will also be required to work with a number of learner groups across the SEN Department.

The successful candidate will have sound literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 achievement/ability in English and maths), competent IT skills and be willing to undertake regular CPD. Experience of working with and supporting special needs learners within an educational context and a proven ability of building good relationships with teaching staff are essential.
