Key Responsibilities: Clinical Support: Assist healthcare professionals during patient consultations, examinations, and procedures. Perform basic clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and respiratory rate), height, weight, and BMI. Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols. Administer vaccinations and medications as directed by healthcare providers. Conduct simple wound care and dressings under supervision. Patient Care: Provide support and assistance to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being during their visit to the practice. Assist patients with mobility and transfers as needed. Offer guidance and education to patients on various health-related topics, including lifestyle modifications, and preventive care. Respond to patient inquiries, providing information and assistance as appropriate. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including entering data into electronic medical records (EMIS). Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations in handling patient information. Practice Support: Assist in the stocking and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and functionality. Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols. Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the practice environment. Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience working in a healthcare setting. Certification or training as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent qualification desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and colleagues. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
