Catering Supervisor Band 3

Full time permanent position 37.5 hours per week

Rolling roster 5 over 7 days various late and early shifts.

At Hillingdon Hospital, our purpose is to provide high quality, safe and compassionate care, improving the health and wellbeing of the people that we serve. Our Facilities department provides a range of important support services across the hospital one of which is catering.

We are recruiting for catering Supervisors to be part of our retail and patient meal service team. The successful candidates will work with the catering management team to plan, organise, co-ordinate and motivate the catering staff to achieve agreed performance objectives.

Catering Supervisors will work across all catering areas to include staff and visitor restaurants, cafes and patient meal provision and service on the wards, with responsibility for supervision of catering staff in the delivery of high and consistent standards.
Previous experience of supervising staff in a catering setting is required.
Be able to demonstrate a full understanding of food safety requirements along with a current food hygiene certificate commensurate to the role.

To ensure completion of hygiene records and documents as per HACCP.(Hazards
Analysis critical control)
• To ensure staff maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness of all catering areas.T
• To support and assist as required in preparation and service of food and beverages for
staff, patient’s visitors and hospitality functions.
• To ensure food regeneration and service to patients and staff is carried out to the required standard.
• Assist with the management of stock; ordering, receipt, rotation, storage, stocking up
and stock taking as required.
• Assist with the monitoring of cash handling, undertake till duties and follow cash handling procedures as required.
• Supporting staff in the operational use of all catering equipment.
• Ensure processes are followed for wash-up of all equipment, machinery, crockery and cutlery associated with the catering service.
• To monitor and support staff with appropriate disposal of refuse.
• Report maintenance issues, machinery breakdown and pest sightings immediately
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are adhered to.
• To support with the creation of work schedules and standard operation procedures as
required.
• To carry out service audits, patient and customer surveys in all areas periodically.

1. Complete trust mandatory training and other compliance training
2. Supporting the catering department to achieve maximum Sores on EHO (Environmental
Health Officer) audit.
3. Report any compliments, complaints or incidents and take such remedial action as is
necessary or practical and escalate to management as appropriate.
4. Support with the productivity, efficiency and developments within the catering
department.
5. To Support catering management with meeting budgetary controls and targets across all catering services
