Summary


We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join our RAFA Unit based at York Hospital. The Ward Clerk is an important member of the MDT, and plays a crucial role in supporting families, patients and staff.

Good organisational skills along with effective and kind communication skills are important for this role. You will be required to prioritise your own workload and exercise initiative within set parameters.

To provide clerical support to clinical staff based on the unit, including the receipt and resolution, where possible, of enquiries from patients, visitors and staff. May also function, where necessary, as the Unit Receptionist.

To provide in office administration of the Frailty Assessment Unit and the services the multi-disciplinary team provide.

The NHS Staff Council has accepted the pay offer made by the government for Agenda for Change staff in England, which you will see is reflected on the salary for this role. The new salary rates for this year (2023/24) will take effect from 1 April 2023. Eligible staff can expect to receive the additional 2022/23 payment and the new 2023/24 pay rates (including back pay to 1 April) as part of their pay in June.
