An exciting opportunity for a full time enthusiastic and highly motivated Employment Adviser to work within Greenwich NHS Talking Therapy Service.

The Employment Adviser's role is to deliver the core employment support provision in EA in NHS Talking Therapies, working with individuals who are in employment, or who are out of work and on health-related benefits.

Employment Advisers provide skills-based interventions, Advice, Information, and Guidance (AIG) including practical support to help people receiving Talking Therapies services to remain in, return to, and find work.

You will work in a supportive and fast-paced environment alongside employment professionals including Psychologists, Counsellors, CBT Therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. The ability to communicate effectively, develop successful partnerships with local services and build rapport with a range of people are essential skills needed to succeed in this role.

The post holder will support people accessing Greenwich Time To Talk Talking Therapies service to find, retain or return to work by offering Advice, Information and Guidance.

Working as part of a team, you will work closely with service users, clinicians and therapists including local employability partners, services, and agencies.

You will have experience of delivering employment support and will be able to manage a caseload of a minimum 30 clients as well as possessing a high level of IT literacy across various software packages.

Meet referral and performance targets in line with the specific KPI.

You will possess excellent organisational and time management skills and be able to prioritise tasks effectively.

You must be familiar with supporting people who have experienced mental health issues, particularly in accessing employment and understand the principles of the Equalities Act 2010 and how it relates to Employment Rights.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude.

The successful candidate will work a minimum of two days a week at our main office in Eltham in line with our service Hybrid model.

Oxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. Our services include community health care such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health care such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies. Our multidisciplinary teams look after people of all ages and we work in close partnership with other parts of the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector and through our new provider collaboratives. Overview of the Post
Work with service users on their employment objectives providing client centred support.

Receive case information and referrals from GTTT practitioners in order to assess work and employment needs.

Facilitate and track service users progress towards their employment goals, utilising action planning.

Provide Employment interventions which include: one to one session (face to face / video conferencing / telephone / electronic) and /or group sessions with clients for:

Gaining sustainable employment

Staying in employment

Returning to work after sickness absence

Conducting Employment assessments with newly referred clients.

Offering Advice, Information and Guidance including signposting to meet the client’s employment goals.

Work with a solution focussed approach maintaining clients' aspirations at the centre.

Balance managing a high, demanding, and variable caseload with the administrative requirements of the Employment Adviser role.

Provide weekly and monthly caseload figures which support Employment Team performance and wider project outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

Employment, Health, and Wellbeing co-ordination to support Employment and Recovery outcomes.

Work interactively with GTTT practitioners who provide low/high intensity interventions with service users who are unemployed or at risk of moving to unemployment.

Work in partnership with the clients' therapist to support a unified and integrated approach.

As part of the Employment Team - promote and circulate information related to employment.

Keep coherent electronic records of all employment related activity for each service user on their caseload ensuring that health and work support are fully integrated.

In collaboration with the employment team develop and maintain effective networks with local providers to the benefit of GTTT service users.

To ensure effective job retention strategies are used with clients including engaging with their employers.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the developments in Jobcentre Plus provision and benefits, national, local and voluntary sector employment and social provision for people with MH issues.

Develop a basic knowledge of psychological therapies provision to work alongside therapists and flag employment clients for further psychological assistance where required.

Data and Information Resources
To keep accurate and timely records of clinical contacts / outcome scales on the electronic clinical record system (IAPTus).

To use a computer on a routine basis to maintain records, access emails, use local databases in Excel and write presentations using Power Point.

Working with other members of the employment team to develop and deliver group interventions.

Communication
To encourage a culture of communication and support effective team working through transparent, professional interactions with GTTT staff and others.

To ensure all case related employment data is available for monitoring and manage own information and resources effectively, including appropriate filing and retrieval of manual and electronic records.

Promote a positive image of mental ill health, employment and equalities ensuring respect for the dignity and rights of individuals.

Possess experience of case management and ideally with experience of working in NHS Talking Therapies and a good understanding of the role of psychological therapies in supporting mental wellbeing and work.

You will also have experience and understanding of the employment challenges faced by individuals with mental health issues and other health concerns or disabilities.

Confidentiality
The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with Trust Policy.

The post holder will ensure compliance with the Trust’s risk management policies and procedures to protect patients, staff and visitors from harm and stress and that all staff have a responsibility to minimise risk.
