Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at Croydon University Hospital as a Elderly Care senior trust grade SHO/Registrar attached to the ACE Unit.
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.The ACE Unit is a 12-16 bedded frailty short-stay inpatient unit to target emergency management of frail older people offering early Consultant led CGA and multidisciplinary assessments whilst linking with Community, Social Services, Mental Health and voluntary teams. The ACE Unit is co-located with the ACE clinic.
• Work closely with the ACE unit MDT and colleagues in providing high quality care
• Participation in and leadership of ward based MDT, including review, assessment and treatment of acute medical inpatients, carrying out comprehensive geriatric assessments, and providing senior clinical leadership during ward work.
• Provide supervision and support the ACE F2 doctors and nursing staff
• Help co-ordinate the ACE and community F2 rota in providing continuity, experience and enabling leave
• Take part in weekly educational activities (We encourage successful candidates to take part in quality improvement projects / audits / teaching sessions)

• Croydon University Hospital
• Purley Hospital
• The Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre in Thornton Heath
• Community bases at Purley, Sanderstead, New Addington, Broad Green, Woodside
• A minor injuries unit in New Addington
