An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Services department at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) for a B6 Physiotherapist to join our women’s health and pelvic health therapy service. This post is particularly well suited for a Physiotherapist looking to develop their skills within pelvic health.
The successful applicant will join our Women’s Health Physiotherapy team, where they will be able to develop their therapeutic skills within the specialist areas of Urogynaecology and Obstetric, including intimate examinations. The postholder will receive regular support and supervision from an experienced team of therapists.

About the team
UHS is a specialist tertiary centre for urogynaecology, gynaecology and colorectal pelvic floor services.
You will be joining a small team of Physiotherapists, based within Princess Anne Hospital, which sits within the remit of University Hospital Southampton and is part of the wider Therapy services department.

This post is part of the wider Therapy services department and therefore you will have many opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge through our in-service training. You will be part of a large department of over 290 wte Therapy staff including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy support staff.

We run a 7-day therapy service working on weekends and Bank Holidays, on a roster basis, which may be expected as part of your working hours in future.

Who is this post suitable for?
We are looking for a dynamic Physiotherapist with both demonstrable musculoskeletal and urogynaecology experience, who is highly motivated and keen to further their knowledge and expertise in this area.

What skills we are looking for
It is essential that you have prior experience in Women’s Health and have experience in carrying out intimate examinations with this female patient group.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, is able to work effectively within a team, and can evidence their involvement in service improvement, teaching and audit, as well as the relevant clinical experience.
