Chef / Catering Tutor




Location: Roebuck Resource Centre, Hastings

Hours of Work: 21 Hours (per week)

Shift Pattern: Monday, Thursday, Friday 8:30-3:30pm

Salary: £9.36 (per Hour)

About the Role:




At Aspens We work across Kent and Sussex; supporting individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and
physical disabilities across residential care homes, supported living homes, day services and our fantastic outreach programme.

Roebuck Enterprises is our resource and advice centre for people with high functioning autism and Asperger syndrome. The centre is
located in Hastings Old Town and runs a variety of groups, events and Enterprise activities daily.




We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Cook to become a part time member of staff to support people with Autism Spectrum
Conditions to participate in our regular sessions. A qualification in, or experience with Cooking especially catering for 15/20
people and baking cakes is essential.




A large part of your role will include running sessions within the centre and supporting individuals with catering and baking
skills as well as helping to bake cakes which are sold to local businesses.







About You:




As the perfect candidate for this role you will be someone who is passionate about food and about supporting others to achieve
their own personal goals.




As our chef/ catering tutor you should have a recognised qualification/ certificate in cookery or catering (or equivalent
experience) as well as certificates in food safety and food preparation. Whilst Autism Awareness training is desirable, this is
not essential as this will be provided to you upon starting in your role along with other mandatory and service specific training.




Experience in cooking/ baking is essential, along with having previously supported vulnerable and/or young people on either a
personal or professional level.




Whilst at Aspens you will be encouraged to strive for personal progression, with new roles and opportunities often available to
