Pay Rate: £195.19 per day PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, 8.30am 5pm

Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months

City: Exeter, Devon

Standard DBS disclosure required for this role

This role will support the SEND Statutory Service with writing and amending Education Health Care Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Write plans to a high standard and in accordance with the relevant statute, regulations, and Department for Education (DfE) guidance, including ensuring plans are clear, concise, and accessible.
Liaise with other members of the SEND Statutory Team, when required; for example, when further information or clarification is required.
Make sure that local authority (LA) procedures are followed, and all relevant data and information is handled appropriately. The information being handled will be confidential and sensitive and must not be disclosed to unauthorised persons.
Under the guidance of an Virtual School SEN Officer, ensure that all requirements of the role are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.

Skills & Experience

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and verbal.
Experience of writing Education Health and Care Plans.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
Effective organisational and time management skills.
Able to work as part of a team but often without direct supervision using own initiative.
Experience of writing Education Health and Care Plans.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
