Summary

Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to take the role of Human Anatomy Unit (HAU) Deputy Manager, and be part of a highly motivated and skilled team who delivers a range of undergraduate education and postgraduate training programmes. You will, in collaboration with the HAU Manager, assist with the coordination and operation of the multi-disciplinary anatomical services facility. You will supervise the technical team and manage the day-to-day running of the facility and delivery of its commitments. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on person who has experience working within an Anatomy facility, knowledge and experience of HTA Codes of Practice, Standards, and Regulatory procedures, as well as experience in Health and Safety processes. Duties and responsibilities Act as a Persons Designated under the Human Tissue Act 2004. Responsible for supporting the HAU manager in all responsibilities and covering these responsibilities in their absence. Line management and supervisory responsibilities of the technical team and delegation of Responsible for the oversight, development, and implementation of the HTA statutory documentation; from receipt to disposal. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of HTA, H&S, and quality management Support the HAU Manager with all facility management responsibilities including, developing and implementing protocols, facilities bookings, specimen loans, disposals, timetabling, finance and invoicing duties, budgetary control duties, ordering, and stock Responsible for the supervision, and delivery of the organisation, administration, and maintenance of all teaching, external training, and research activities of the Unit, in line with contractual and curriculum requirements. Support the technical leads for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching courses. Provide technical assistance and cover for all technical duties within the Unit (UG & PG), as well as assist with all administrative and organisational responsibilities. Essential requirements * The candidate should have a qualification in (Anatomy/Biological Sciences) or equivalent vocational qualification or relevant laboratory-based experience * Experience working at a senior technical level in an Anatomy teaching laboratory or similar environment * Experience in line management. * Experience in supervising staff, students, and groups. * Experience in training staff * Experience in implementing HR protocols * Experience in embalming human donors for Anatomical Examination * Experience in Quality management and inventory management practices * Working knowledge and experience of HTA regulations relating to Anatomical Examination * Experience in designing and implementing SOPs and HTA documents * Working experience in the protocols and processes associated with the receipt, processing, curation, and disposition of human anatomical donations for educational purposes. * Working Knowledge of developing and implementing Health and Safety Regulations and Legislation Further information This is a full time, open-ended post and you will be based at Charing Cross Campus.
