Our client is a leading full-service law firm which is continuing to grow significantly through a period of success. They are recognised as a Top 45 law firm and a top UK employer with an emphasis on employee growth and development. The firm are currently looking to expand their Birmingham and Leicester Casualty teams and are recruiting 2-4PQE solicitors / chartered legal executives.
Your new role
This Casualty Solicitor position will see you handle your own mixed caseload of pre-litigated and litigated claims involving Employers Liability, Occupiers liability, Housing Disrepair and Highways law. You may also be asked to assist partners on more complex, multi-track casualty claims. You will be required to draft and perform legal research, investigations, pleadings and witness statements as well as attend court. This role will see you liaise with clients, opponents, courts and witnesses whilst also conducting your own liability investigations.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive who is 2-4 years PQE. Previous experience handling your own litigated caseload of EL/PL/OL or housing disrepair claims is essential. Defendant experience is preferable, but claimant lawyers will also be considered. Successful applicants will have strong academics, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have a real interest in this area of law, with plans to develop your career in a well-run firm.
