The Suspected CANcer (SCAN) pathway

SCAN is a Multidisciplinary Diagnostic Centre (MDC) based pathway which supports earlier and faster detection of cancers amongst patients with non-specific but concerning symptoms, whose symptoms do not indicate an appropriate urgent (2 Week Wait) referral pathway.

SCAN pathway involves rapid access to Computed Tomography (CT) and laboratory tests (blood and faeces tests), with possible further tests if needed and an appointment with a specialist working in a Multi Diagnostic Clinic (MDC), dependent on the test results. The aim is to reach a diagnosis and be able to begin treatment faster than at present.

We are looking for an excellent administrator to support the team, on a part time basis. The SCAN Pathway Administrator will be a key member of the team working with closely with the SCAN pathway navigators and radiographers as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will support the SCAN team with governance and administration of the pathway. A keen eye for detail and good organisational skills are a must. The post holder will be required to undertake administrative triage of incoming referrals as well as a number of data entry/management tasks taking place at different points along the service pathway
