Job Title: Minibus Driver for children with difficulties.

Location: Blaby, Sapcote, Loughborough, Melton, Croft, Mountsorrel, Nailstone.

Salary: £11.98ph , expenses paid

Hours: Split shifts, typically Mon-Fri with occasional weekends and bank holidays

start times vary from 6:30-7am

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Minibus Driver to join our agency, providing vital transportation services for children that could suffer with various disabilities including restricted access, adhd, autism.

Qualifications:

Essential: Full Driving Licence prior to 01/01/1997 OR Post 01/01/1997 Driving licence with appropriate mini-bus capability category D1.
Desirable: PCV Licence, Basic First Aid certification.
Experience:

Essential: Experience in driving and transporting individuals/groups of people, working with the general public within a service provision environment, keeping written records/documentation, and ability to read and follow maps.
Desirable: Experience in driving Mini-buses and passenger carrying vehicles in excess of 8 seats, working with vulnerable groups, use of tail-lifting/carriage of wheelchairs, cash handling.
Knowledge:

Essential: Road Traffic Legislation, Highway Code, Hazard identification, and Risk assessment, Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Desirable: Manual handling training, Health & Safety legislation.
Other Requirements:

Customer care and quality services.
Ability to follow set programs & instructions.
An understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities.
Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

(Include but not limited to)

Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure safety and report any defects.
Drive vehicles in a safe manner and comply with Road Traffic Law.
Maintain vehicles in a clean and tidy condition.
Pick up and drop off of school meals
Undertake minor vehicle repairs as directed.
Assist in loading/unloading passengers and securing wheelchairs.
Ensure the safety and dignity of passengers.
Follow pre-planned schedules/routes and complete necessary documentation.
Communicate effectively with passengers and stakeholders.
Assist in driver/server duties for Meals service.
Provide detailed geographical information for route planning.
Report vehicle accidents and emergencies promptly.
Attend compulsory training courses and other meetings as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
