Market Assistant
Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Pay Rate : £12.18 per hour
Hours : 6am-8am and 4pm-7pm, a few days a week between Monday to Saturday (Average 8 hours a week, but cover work available up to 20 hours available)

Applicants must have a Full UK Driver’s Licence
Key Responsibilities
• Ensuring the efficient operation of the market sites, including the allocation of stalls and removal of barrier fencing as appropriate.
• Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of market sites and surrounding areas, including manual sweeping, litter picking, collection and disposal of waste into refuse containers or similar.
• Collection of market tolls and issuing of receipts in accordance with standard operating procedures & financial regulations and other laid down procedures as and when required.
• Liaison with traders to offer assistance and resolve difficulties where possible.
• Ensuring compliance by traders with market rules and regulations including monitor and report any buying or selling before opening time and monitor and report any illegal activity.
• General maintenance of market stalls, undertaking minor repairs and reporting of defects to line manager.
• To unload stalls and position in the correct location to install and remove covers, weight clamps and fold up the stalls and to load onto trailers.
• Maintaining toilets and surrounding areas in a clean and tidy condition.
• Keeping surfaces and surrounding areas clean and free from graffiti.
• Maintaining an awareness of Health and Safety issues relating to the markets and ensuring compliance where applicable.
• Drive Vehicles and tow trailers as required for the effective operation of the Market.
• Provide cover in the absence of all other markets employees as appropriate.
Key Requirements
• Full UK Driver’s Licence
• A team player, with the ability to work unsupervised
• Great attitude and work ethic.
• Excellent attendance.
