We have the exciting opportunity for a role within the leadership team for the District Nursing service in East Dorset Locality. This role would be responsible for the District Nursing teams aligned to Wimborne/Ferndown and Crane Valley PCNs.

This is a key leadership role, leading and managing District Nursing teams, with line management responsibility for Band 6 DN team leads, reporting to the Locality Manager, identifying and responding to both short and long term developments and demands, and providing an interface between the District Nursing service and the Primary Care network, developing strong relationships and attending relevant forums to represent the service.

The post holders will work as part of a close team who provide leadership support to teams within the East Dorset area and be part of a network of peers across Dorset.

The hours will be full-time at 37.5 per week but may be scheduled over an 8am-6pm and may include weekends.



Responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred services with a focus on integrated care which always considers people’s safety, privacy and dignity.

Day-to-day management and leadership of clinical teams and Specialist Practitioners and other staff in the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder would be required to hold the District Nursing Specialist Practice Qualification.

To act as a champion for clinical standards and for continuous improvement in the service user experience.

To ensure the delivery of up-to-date evidence-based practice.

Contribute to the planning and design of services in line with Trust, locality, and government objectives to meet the needs of local people.
