Summary


A key leadership role opportunity has arisen within ABSDAS. The post holder will work as a team manager and senior clinician within a dynamic multi disciplinary team covering Gwent, offering intervention to people with complex needs and substance use, leading ABSDASliaisonservice, working in partnership with highly vulnerable people, the focus being on liaison services at GUH and other hospitals in ABUHB catchment,leading on inpatient detox pathways.

The successful candidate will manage a small team ensuring timely and proportionate response, link with the wider ABSDAS team to lead on inpatient management. A creative approach should be used in enabling co production and close engagement with other stakeholder services.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished nurse practitioner, have experience leading people and driving forward person centred care and service development. They will have values that reflect a compassionate and open minded professional. They will have the confidence and ability to provide pragmatic and evidence based care.

Applicants will need relevant experience of working in Substance Use Service provision and/or Mental Health Teams and will be comfortable with working with a complex and at times high risk client group. This should ensure the safety of service users and team members alike.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post though not essential; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Manage the ABSDAS liaison team, provide assessment, advice, and treatment for drug and/or alcohol dependent adults attending DGH's locally and manage the Inpatient detox pathway, including training for mental health. Provide treatment and case management service to people experiencing problems with substance use and associated complexities, linking predominantly with inpatient pathways and general hospitals. Support the team leads alongside the wider MDT to deliver and lead on treatment regimes, therapeutic interventions for vulnerable people.

The liaison team provide services to people who have additional complex issues affecting their psychological, physical and / or social functioning. The nature of this service user group necessitates detailed, comprehensive and robust packages of care that address all aspects of their psycho-social needs to promote progressive and positive change. This role will involve assessment and signposting or referral to appropriate services for support.

The successful candidate will by qualified as an ANP or be completing the ANP MSc, they will lead work in conjunction with ABSDAS Team Leads and Clinical Leadership and support service users and medical colleagues to comprehensively assess needs and give appropriate clinical advice. This will aim to address their physical and psychological well-being in addition to their substance use.
