Summary


The Assistant Practice Educator will support the Practice Educator for Acute Paediatrics in the development and delivery of training programmes and educational strategy across acute paediatrics as well as supporting staff in the clinical areas.

The ideal candidate will have a high level of knowledge and skill within acute paediatric care and be passionate about teaching and developing clinical staff. They will need to be approachable to staff and provide leadership and support to empower junior staff to develop themselves.

The Assistant Practice Educator is accountable for their own professional actions, and is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of education programmes to positively impact the delivery of quality patient care.

The post holder is required to promote and maintain an effective environment for learning within the acute paediatric directorate through coaching, and staff development in a variety of settings. The post holder under the support of the directorate practice education lead will manage their own workload working collaboratively with all disciplines to ensure the effective running of the service.

The post holder will plan and deliver training sessions and work alongside staff in the clinical area. They will support the directorate practice educator in the annual review and development of education and training provision for staff.

The Assistant Practice Educator will also assist in the development of relevant guidelines, policies and procedures for Acute Paediatrics as well as taking an active role in audit.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
