Staff Nurse - Acute Medical Unit
This is your chance to be part of an amazing nursing team - where patient care is at the centre of everything we do. Do you want to make a difference to each patient’s experience of the NHS as they proceed through their journey? The Acute Medical Unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital is recruiting now and we want you!
It is not essential to have worked within emergency medicine to apply for this position as we would welcome all Registered Nurses as we are committed to going the extra mile for you, as you would for our patients. We work together to create a positive team spirit, recognising achievements and celebrating success. We know that happy patients start with happy staff.
If you are looking for professional and personal development then we will support you to achieve this. There is a clear development structure in place, which includes senior ward level nursing as well as Clinical Nurse Specialists involved in delivery of care within the emergency medical speciality. We actively encourage training and development with Mentorship and Care of the Critically Ill Patient degree modules on offer.
Full time and part time hours considered.
You must be able to work as part of team and autonomously when required, and be committed to delivering care of a high standard. We work closely with our colleagues in the Emergency Department and on the Same Day Medical Assessment Unit and are looking at rotational posts within our speciality.
To work as a skilled member of the nursing team.
To provide a high standard of compassionate patient centred care.
To lead and supervise the work of other qualified and unqualified staff within the team
To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.
To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff, as deemed appropriate by the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse or Clinical Matron
Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.
