Teaching Assistant for Pre-School
- Location: Hayes, Middlesex
- Role: Full-Time Teaching Assistant, Monday - Friday from 8.00am - 5.30pm
- Start Date: September 2024
- Salary: £550-£600 per week


A progressive and well-established academy with a strong presence in the Hayes area, are looking to hire a teaching assistant to work within their Early Years department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic and compassionate individual to work alongside pre-school and Reception aged children and make a genuine difference.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Reception class teacher and become an integral part of a dedicated team. This school provides a warm and welcoming environment for both students and staff alike and offers support and guidance with clear career progression.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach
- Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate
- Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils' you teach
- Be aware of pupils' capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on these demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn
- Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs; more able; EAL; disabilities; and be able to use and evaluate distinctive teaching approaches to engage and support them
- If teaching early reading, demonstrate a clear understanding of appropriate teaching strategies e.g. systematic synthetic phonics
- Use an appropriate range of observation, assessment, monitoring and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives for pupils of all backgrounds, abilities and dispositions, monitoring learners' progress and levels of attainment.

Requirements:
- Psychology degree or related field.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and supporting their educational development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and varied work environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
