An exciting opportunity has arisen for two band 6 registered nurses to join the BCSP team. One full time 37.5 hour post and one part time 30 hour post will be available to join a team of Specialist Screening Practitioners (SSPs) to deliver a high quality, effective and forward thinking and expanding screening service.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of care to the screening population identified by the screening programme across multiple sites in Nottinghamshire. You will also get the opportunity to be actively involved in the screening centre health promotion strategy to improve patient outcomes for our local population.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required to maintain and develop relationships within a wide range of internal and external contacts.

The successful applicant will be expected to have started the Screening Practitioner's course at Liverpool John Moore's University within the first 9 months of coming into post - This is a mandatory requirement for the role and includes a residential element.

The post holder will be a first level registered nurse with evidence of post registration experience and professional development. A postgraduate qualification or relevant specialist knowledge and skills to degree level or equivalent in lower gastrointestinal disease, colorectal and/or cancer pathways and knowledge of endoscopy is desirable

The ability to be flexible & organised in the workplace with a passion for delivering a quality and successful service is essential. Induction, training and ongoing development will be supported by the team and Lead Screening Practitioner.

We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, innovative and flexible individual with the ability to prioritise a potentially demanding and diverse workflow and to work on his/her own initiative and as a member of a growing team.

As the service delivers screening across two Trusts: Nottingham University Hospitals Trust and Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust, a full clean UK driving license, willingness and ability to travel between sites, and own transport is essential.

With over 19,000 staff, we are one of the biggest employers in the city with a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local population. We play a leading role in research, education and innovation.
