Crynodeb
This role is based within the Aftercare Team, which sits within the wider Complex Cases Team at UK Security Vetting. The purpose of the Aftercare Team is to investigate anything of security concern, between periods of normal vetting review, which could potentially affect an individual's suitability to hold a national security clearance. We are currently recruiting a Case Officer to join the existing team. This is a complex decision-maker role.
- Analyse and assess complex vetting enquiries, identifying potential security risks, and recovering evidence of your decision-making in a written document.
- Referring to relevant documents to ensure compliance with UKSV processes and policy (Vetting Decision Framework).
- Making key vetting decisions, using your own professional judgement.
- Appropriately referring/escalating any high-risk cases when they exceed your own decision-making authority.
- Mentoring and providing vetting casework advice to team members across the Complex Case Team and wider UKSV when needed.
- Liaising with clearance holder as and when required.
