This is an exciting opportunity to join and help shape a new service. West London NHS Trust is recruiting to a new Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Service for Hounslow, Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham CAMHS. The team will undertake Intensive DBT training together in November 2024, provided by British Isles DBT.

The service will provide assessment, treatment; training and consultation in relation to young people aged 12 to 18 who present with persistent self-harm and suicidal behaviour, which may be in the context of emotional dysregulation. Many of the young people seen will present with complex needs including high risk behaviours. All young people seen will have a comprehensive assessment to inform decision making and planning for the future. Each team member will have a small caseload and the team will support each other via consultation meetings and supervision.

Within the DBT service each clinician will play an active role in all aspects of theservice, including assessment, treatment (individual therapy, skills group, phone coaching) teaching, training, research, and service development.

This is an incredible opportunity to establish a career with West London NHS Trust, in one of the country’s most exciting and progressive mental health providers.

You will join the multidisciplinary CAMHS DBT Team in the provision of comprehensive assessments and treatments for children and young people presenting with emotional dysregulation conditions. For some cases, you will be primary case manager, for others you may provide input to the case as a team member offering specific assessments and treatments, or providing monitoring or as co-worker to the case worker.

This role includes providing specialist, culturally appropriate, evidence based occupational therapy assessments as part of a comprehensive multi professional assessment for children and young people in order to establish and meet their occupational needs. This may include assessment of a child or young person’s motor, process and sensory development in order to assess their need and where indicated providing appropriate advice and intervention.
