Crynodeb
We are a small friendly team who are committed to providing high quality care to our patients and are looking for a sister/Charge Nurse to work in our Outpatient Oncology / Haematology Unit on the Judy Beard Day Unit at Conquest Hospital.
The unit comprises of 18 patient treatment chairs/ bed, used to safely deliver, and administer Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) and life supporting treatments.
Your working pattern will be fulltime working four shifts, between the hours of 08:00 – 18:00 over a six-day period covering Monday – Saturday, thus requiring flexibility to cover the needs of the service.
Ideally you will have at least 2 years recent and relevant experience and will have the knowledge and skill to coordinate the day to day running of a SACT unit and be in receipt of a completed SACT passport.
Your responsibilities will amongst others, include using clinical expertise and supported decision making regarding safe administration and management of SACT and all related side effects, having the ability or desire to learn how to triage cancer patients and providing strong leadership.
You will be a role model for the team and will be committed to mentoring and developing junior nurses. Excellent organisational skills and communication are key in this area, and you will work closely with the whole multidisciplinary team.
