Are you an experienced clinical pharmacist with an interest in young peoples’ mental health? Come and join our expanding clinical pharmacy service where we strive to deliver the best possible patient care within a supportive team environment. We are developing our clinical pharmacy provision within Children and Young Peoples’ mental health services in the organisation and are seeking to appoint a highly motivated clinical pharmacist with an interest in mental health to lead the provision of clinical pharmacy services to this speciality that includes Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) and Eating Disorder services.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist for the Network and Service Managers to develop the role working with clinical teams as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing the care needs of patients and service users and optimising medicines use.

There is currently no requirement for weekend or bank holiday working.

As Advanced Pharmacist to this specialty you will participate in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the specialist in-patient unit and designated community teams. Your role will also include ensuring that medicines management practices within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and services comply with legal, national and local guidelines.

You will be responsible for ensuring that medicines use is evidence based, safe, cost effective and appropriate to the individual patient, promoting involvement of patients and carers in decisions about medication options.

Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team whilst also managing your own workload. You must be dynamic, resilient, and be able to manage and motivate others. You will have the ability to influence the multidisciplinary team and engage with key stakeholders.

The role is Trust wide with flexibility in the base location.



Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
