Who is Doncaster Racecourse and the Hilton Garden Inn?

Home to the world’s oldest classic horse race, the St. Leger, Doncaster Racecourse is a unique multipurpose venue welcoming over 500,000 guests to over 35 fixtures each year and a full events calendar hosting events such as Weddings, Conferences, Boxing, Summer Crafting, Classic Car Show, Antiques Fayres and lots more.

If that’s not enough, we also have on-site The Hilton Garden Inn boasting 154 bedrooms, 2 conference and exhibition suites, a banqueting site, Restaurant and Bar. This is a popular addition to many racegoers and the perfect facility for guests visiting Doncaster on both leisure and business. Part of a multinational hotel chain of over 500 hotels with a reputation that proceeds it, the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel ticks all the boxes.

Operating daily Breakfast, Lunch and Evening meal service with conferences and events also in the mix, we are on the lookout for casual Breakfast Chefs to aid our thriving and busy team.

About the role:

The Breakfast Chef will mainly work independently to effectively prepare, batch cook throughout service and serve the Hilton Breakfast offer, ensuring an excellent guest and customer experience. The Breakfast Chef will ensure that the preparation of the food is of a high standard and complies with food and safety regulations.

The role is predominantly covering breakfast service; however the need may arise to assist with other services to cover absence/holidays.

Main duties for our Breakfast Chef’s include-

Ensure all food preparation meets standards.
To ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen operation.
Attend all Health and Safety Training as directed by designated Line Manager.
Prepare and present high-quality food.
Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues.
Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation.
Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination.
Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
Be environmentally aware
The person we are looking for as Breakfast Chef has….

A clear focus on delivering fantastic customer service
Excellent communication skills
Eligibility to work in the UK
NVQ Level 3 food preparation preferred
Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
Proven track record in a similar role
Previous experience within a branded hotel is a distinct advantage
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
What is casual work?

Casual work is a great solution as it enables you to work flexibly around other commitments in your life. Once you have registered your interest, we will contact you in advance to offer you department based shifts at racedays or hospitality functions. There are usually a range of shifts available and opportunities for work are based on busy seasons and the annual racing calendar. Positions will be allocated on the day as part of the briefing.
