The Hartley community Ward is based at Pendle Community Hospital in Nelson. We have just achieved Silver SPEC status on the ward and strive to continue and maintain the standards we provide of safe, personal and effective care

Hartley Ward are looking to appoint health care assistants to support them in the delivery of direct care for their patients . We provide Rehabilitation and continuing nursing care for patients within the East Lancashire footprint. We are looking to recruit health care assistants to support us in providing safe personal and effective care.



The successful candidate will work alongside the nursing staff to deliver the care for our patients. The post is a rotational post and staff will be expected to cover nights and weekends.

At the centre of our focus is always the patient. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. There will be a full ward induction supported by the team of experienced healthcare assistants on the ward under the guidance of the ward manager; in addition opportunities to develop within the role will be available.

Working for the Community Division can be demanding but is extremely rewarding and the wards are well supported by the ward managers and senior teams. You may be the first point of contact for the patient and their families and members of the public so you will need to be confident and smart in appearance

The role of a health care assistant is to be able to provide direct care to a patient and a group of patients . This could be attending to their hygiene needs, nutritional needs and supporting them in their daily activities
