52 weeks per yearElmwood Junior School is seeking to appoint a Caretaker who, reporting to the School Business Manager, will work as part of a team to ensure the safety and security of the school site.The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of health and safety requirements and security methodology. They must be able to prioritise and manage urgent tasks, such as safety issues and manage your own workload effectively. They will have line management experience, to enable you to effectively supervise the work of all contractors attending site.They will have proven DIY skills in order to carry out routine maintenance and repairs and the ability to perform the physical tasks required by the role, such as lifting and handling.They will demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to communicate clearly to school staff, pupils and third parties.This is an important role to ensure that a safe and secure environment is provided for all users of the Elmwood Junior School site, therefore a conscientious and proactive approach is essential.We offer excellent working conditions with key benefits that include:
